Susan Johnson returns to memoir. Aphrodite’s Breath: A Daughter, A Mother and A Greek Island (Allen & Unwin) is coming in May 2023.

Susan is one of Australia’s most beloved writers. Out of her ten books, eight of which are novels, have been nominated for the Association for the Study of Australian Literature Gold Medal, the Miles Franklin Award, the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, the National Biography Award, the Queensland and Victorian Premier’s Prizes, the Banjo Award and the Kibble Prize. She has been published by Faber & Faber UK/US; Washington Square Press; Actes Sud (France) and Klub dla Ciebie (Poland). Susan is the recipient of several fellowships including the Literature Board of the Australia Council and Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. In 2010, she returned from ten years in London to live in Brisbane. Her latest novels are The Landing (Allen & Unwin, 2016), and From Where I Fell (Allen & Unwin, 2021).
